Vision

In February of 2005 I returned to Kihilla to participate in the Matrix Church Planting program run by CRM and Church Army. Many fond memories of youth camps, house parties, & Holy Spirit weekends came flooding back. There had been significant times here and this visit was to be no different.

Kihilla

Since that visit I no longer think about those fond memories, but rather about the awesome possibilities I sense God has been showing me. At the end of 2005 I felt the Lord calling me out of my then current full-time ministry position to take up a significant role in the development of a transforming Christian community at Kihilla. We now know that community as ‘The Sanctuary’.

The Sanctuary, a Church Army Local Mission Base, is an integrated work, worship, mission, training and restoration community. It is integrated with the Church Army National Office, Global Gap Year program, and Restoration ministry. People from each ministry participate in the rhythms of the base which include regular corporate meals, worship, study, prayer and fasting, and mission.

Our vision is to grow the worshipping community through conversion growth to the extent of our resources. At this point we will commission a team of our best people and send them out to plant another church, allowing the community at Kihilla to continue it’s missional focus over that of maintaining a capacity congregation.
